MODELING A YEAR CYCLE OF PHYTOPLANKTON VITAL ACTIVITY IN THE OCEAN
The model of phytoplankton distribution in a vertical column of water is based upon a reactiondiffusion equation. It takes into account major influencing factors: mineral nutrients, insolation and temperature. We analyze the dynamics of phytoplankton biomass density under seasonal changes and other variations of habitat characteristics.
